| | Did 1 mile in aerobics on the football field. Workout for track was 2 mile warmup, then 4 by 800 at 2 mile pace and a 400 in between each interval. I pushed the pace faster than 2 mile pace because that was too slow for only 4 800's. Splits were 2:11, 2:19, 2:25, 2:18. There was a significant amount of headwind on the home stretch. Not that hard of a workout at all which kind of dissapoints me. Cooled down for 2 miles.

| | This morning in aerobics the teacher told me I could leave class again to go run, so I went outside and did a mile on the turf. For track I was supposed to go on a distance run, but my coach didn't have a 3200 time to put in for the Grizz invite so I did a time trial for that. Warmed up for 2 miles then started. I just had to get a time that I know would put me in the first heat, so I didn't have to push way hard. First mile was 5:02 and I felt real comfortable. Finished in 10:07 which didn't feel as hard I would've thought. Cooled down for 2 miles with Hayden and Eric. I can't wait for Saturday because I feel like I'm going to get a huge p.r..

| | am: 1 easy mile in aerobics
pm: 2.5 miles warm around Mcdonalds loop. Then 6 by 200's at 2 mile race pace with a 200 meter active recovery in between each set. Real easy workout. Just trying to be ready for the Grizz invite on Saturday. Cooldown for 2.5.

MC Dual @ Clearfield 400m (0.25 Miles) 00:52:00, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | am: 1 easy mile in aerobics
Had a dual meet at Clearfield today but I didn't plan on doing much because we have an invite on Saturday. I decided to just high jump, and do the 400 which I have never done before. Got about a mile warm up and felt pretty good. Since I've never raced the 400 I wasn't quite sure what to do. I didn't use the blocks because I'm not quite sure how to use those. I tried taking off as fast as I could as go. I was in the 6th lane so the curves felt real weird running out that far. I was pretty tired the last 100 but I just kept going. Ended up finishing in 52.88 which I guess is pretty good for never doing it before. State qualifying is only 51.01 so maybe I could get that if I decided to run it again. High jumped after as well and got 5'8" which is my last years p.r.. I never practice for that so it's not really important to me. Cooled down for a couple miles so I could get 6. Can't wait for Saturday.

| | Easy 3 mile pre-race for tomorrow. I am so darn sore from running that 400. I never knew that running a 400 could make my legs feel like that. My hamstrings hurt so darn bad, so I'm going to be doing a lot of rolling out before tomorrow. Can't wait!

Grizzly Invitation 3200 M (2 Miles) 00:09:43, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | So today was the Grizzly Invitational which I have been so excited for. I haven't raced a 3200 yet this outdoor season, so I was way pumped to see what I could do. Got to the meet at about 8:15 and did a half a mile with Hayden and Josh Leatham from Mountian View. He said he was running the 3200 and wanted to state qualify, which was also my goal, so we decided we would push eachother and try to hit the splits. I got only a mile warmup for the before the race because I'm pretty sure they didn't say first call or anything, so I rushed to get any kind of a warmup. When we started, I lead out the first 3 laps staying right on state qualifying pace, then Josh lead the next 4 laps. I stayed right on his back, but 5th and 6th lap was the killer. We started to fall off pace then. Not by much but just a couple seconds for each lap. With 600 meters left we really started to pick up the pace, because if we didn't state qualify, might as well try to win the race. I tried pulling in head with 500 left but i couldn't get passed him. With 300 left I told myself that I had to go now and I couldn't go by him slowly or he would stay with me. I kicked it and just kept going and by the time I hit the 200 mark I was at full speed. I coasted in with a 3 second victory over 2nd place. My last 400 meters I did in 66 seconds. Got a time of 9:43.29 which was a new p.r.. Dissapointed that I didn't state qualify but I definitely have it me and I will get it when in a race with a ton of competition. Good way to run my first 3200 of the season.
Pretty much sat in the sun all day long and got cooked. Tried sleeping in the school on an athletic trainer mat for some time but I couldn't. By the time the 1600 rolled around I was pretty exhausted. I sluggishly warmed up for a mile then lined up. I got out to a really bad start and that really messed me up mentally. Just a mixture of being really fatigued and mentally not being in the raced screwed me over. I ran a 4:44 which was just really embarassing. It really put a damper on my day. So far this year both of my 16's that I have raced were not very good. I know I can run a lot better than that, so I just need to more posotive about it and just get it done. Cooled down with Cam, Josh, Hayden, and Eric. I can't wait to keep racing and keep improving every race.
