Hollow road today. We were supposed to be going an easy pace, but for some reason everybody was pushing the pace. We were going like high 5's and low 6's. When we got back on the highway we sprinted in between every other telephone pole, which helps make the hill you're on pass by faster. Then we got back to the school and ran 4X 200 meter strideouts. I felt great on those. It really makes me want to have some speedwork. We finished and ran a barefoot mile, then I put the spikes on 1 more time and ran a half mile.

pm: I was at the logan rec center with my family playing racket ball and it was getting dark. I really wanted to get home and go run, but they wanted to play and stay because my sister is leaving for the MTC on Wednesday for her mission. She is going to Sydney, Australia by the way. But anyways, I knew that I couldn't run at home because the mosquito fogger drives around Nibley on monday and its bad to breath, so I ran a mile on the track at LHS and then they were ready to go. My right knee hurts, and so does my foot, but I am trying to ice and take care of it.

Today was supposed to be a tempo run on Nibley Dip for 20 minutes, but our coach changed it to be 1 minute at mile pace, and 3 minutes active recovery. We were supposed to do that for 20 minutes. So in all, we got 5 minutes at mile pace. I would have of preffered the regular 20 minute tempo run because it's usually a really good workout, but I'm okay with it today, because my knees have started to hurt. Contemplated not going this morning. I was sooo tired. Glad that I did though. I  really want to get 70 miles this week, but I can already tell that it's gonna be a tough week, so we will see.

pm: 5 mile run at a 6:45 pace. It was hot and other than my foot kind of hurting, I felt great.

Today we went to 1st dam to run 7 miles on the river trail. I'm just a little confused abut one thing though. Why the fetch is it under 40 degrees outside when we are still in July!? I just don't understand. But besides freezing my hands off, the run was good. I was a little sore from yesterday. Gotta make this blog short because we are leaving to drop my sister off at the MTC. Goodluck to her. Gotta do atleast 4 tonight.

pm: 4.25 miles at a 6:45 pace. Felt really good with the new shoes that I just got.

Blacksmith Fork Hill today! 7 hill repeats, and boy did that suck. I maintained a 5:30-5:45 pace all the way up the hill. I was happy with that because the hill is sooo long. I usually dread the workout the night before, but I am glad that I got out and worked hard. After the hills, I ran McDonalds loop back to the school. Great morning to get out on a run. All except for the wind, which I think blew the hardest it has all summer, but thats alright. Gonna go 3 to 4 miles tonight.

pm: Did a fun 4 miles today with Joe. Stayed at about a 6:45 pace. Good conversations with him. Geez you wack liberalists. Got home and I was at 4 miles, but I was feeling pretty good, so I went one more mile and got 5. I think I'm gonna finally get 70 miles this week.

Today we ran upper turkey sheds. The wind was crazy today. Had to run into the wind a lot of the time, and that just sucked. My legs were pretty fatigued from yesterdays hill workout. It was an easy pace, but still felt tough. Got back to the school and then we did 4X200 meter strideouts. I was 3 quarters of a mile short of 8, so some of us ran barefoot on the football field and finished with 8. Goodluck to Coach Don at the American Fork Half Marathon tomorrow. Got to go atleast 3 or 4 tonight.

pm: Easy run with Joe. 4.25 miles. Same loop in Nibley as we have been doing for the past couple days. I'm kinda of fatigued from our workouts earlier this week. Not really looking forward to our morning run tomorrow.

This morning me and a few other varsity kids, met up in providence to do a 9 mile run. Our coach told us the directions on where to go. It was one 5 mile loop, and one 4 mile loop. The first 5 mile loop was pretty hilly. Long gradual inclines, that didn't feel to great. Every workout that I have done this week had pretty decent sized hills. At the end of the loop, we stopped at Zollinger park where we first started, and I changed my shoes to my Adidas Boost  because they have more cushion than my Kinvara's. I wasn't too thrilled to do the second loop because that has a really big hill that goes on for about 3 quarters of a mile. We ran it and it was tiring. Even though Hayden is on a bike because of his injury, he still got a pretty good workout. For the rest of the run, we just cruised on the downhill and flat. Pretty happy that I'm gonna get 70 miles this week. Now I can start toning the milage down for the season. Gotta do 4 miles tonight and I will get 70. So will Joe.

pm: Finally got 70 miles! Now I can start toning down the milage and start to focus on speed work for the season. Not much to say about the run other than it was wayy hot, and I was already exhausted because I was at the logan pool for 4 hours before that. Pretty happy that I got it though. Just gonna go out and play some ping pong and have a fire with my buddies. Peace.
