Today's workout Don wanted us to do 30, 60, 90, 120 second hill repeats up the hill in Providence near the top of Center street. I wasn't really sure what to expect since this would be my first hill repeat workout since September. No explanation needed, you all know why. While starting, it was quite obvious to see that I have lost a lot of strength on hills which used to be my thing. By the time the 2 minute interval came, I was dead. But I still pushed hard and got near to the very top. I remember where I would get when I did this workout during the cross country season. So it shows that I got a lot of work to do to get caught back up. After we finished we ran to Don's house where we chatted for a couple minutes with him. Then we cooled down to 3 miles.

Went to the Sports Academy tonight to run and lift. The plan was 6 miles, First 3 miles I finished it 17:05 which felt pretty good. Took of couple minutes for a drink break and started running again. On my second set my first mile I finished in 6:45, but right before I finished that mile I told myself that I would push hard on the 2nd mile of that set. So right when it hit 1 mile (6:45) I tossed up the speed to 12 mph. It actually didn't feel too hard and I finished the next mile at (11:45) which just so happens to be 5 minutes flat. Wish I would've turned the speed up a little more at the end to break 5, but I don't really care. Took 1 more short break then finished with a 1 mile cooldown so I could finish with 9 miles for the day. I wish my milage was more built up and my body was more used to it because I would have done a couple miles more, but I live in fear of stress fractures and over usage injuries. When I was finished I did some leg curls, and bunch of other weights for my legs. Pretty succesful day. Gonna take it easier for the rest of the week so I feel good for BYU.
