I got to the Oval and immediatley fell in love with the track. I sat and chilled with Ethan, Hayden, Claire and some other kids. I had a real good time talking with my fellow Hobby Joggers. I was feeling pretty good with exception of my hip flexor that was still hurting a bit. I went and warmed up down stairs instead of going outside because that smoggy air makes it hard for me to breath. I wasn't quite sure on mileage but I ran for about 15 minutes so I'm estimating around 2 miles. When I went back up stairs they called for the boys 3200 so I through on the spikes and ran over. I did a few dynamic stretches and stride outs while the girls were racing. When we were put on the starting line, the race officials didn't do a very good job of seperating people by time. I was in the middle of the front line. When the gun went off, I did a good job getting out and was in a good 2nd place spot. For the next 5 laps I sat right behind Ethan. The next group of kids were pretty far back from us. With about 2 laps left Ethan started to open up a bit of a gap, and that is where I have to do better mentally to stay in the race. By the last lap I was pretty tired but I still did my best to push all the way to the end. My goal was to break 9:45, but I didn't quite get it, I got a 9:52. I was still happy with it though. I finished 2nd to Ethan by 7 seconds. The group behind me was able to somewhat close the gap and 3rd place came in 3 seconds behind me. I was so happy to be done and sit and take a break for a couple minutes. Later we did a cool down with some of the other Hobby Joggers on the track. I didn't do a very good job of keeping track, but I would say it was probably around a mile and a half. Great job to everybody that ran yesterday. It was really fun to meet some new people. I'm way excited to race at Simplot this next week. Hopefully I can get a big P.R.. Peace.

Dang now I really wish I was there nice job. What are you running at Simplot? Sounds like you have a good chance at making finals in the 3200 since last year was around 9:50 to qualify
