Simplot was today, and I was so gratetful that I got to run today. Once again, I fell in love with the track as I have many past tracks that I've raced at this indoor season. When I got there I took a few laps with Ethan to get a feel for the track. I was feeling pretty good. When it got time to warmup, I did about a mile with Ethan and a stride out before I went back inside. They called 2nd call for the 3200 right as I got back inside, so I was freakin out that I was gonna get scratched, so I hustled my butt over there and thankfully got there in time. I was pretty nervous but feeling good. I was 13th in my heat so I had to start on the front outside waterfall. I got out to a good start, but a little fast. My first mile was in 4:44, which was a sign that I went out too fast. I kept on getting past in the last mile, and it was really frustrating because I still felt like I was running hard. I ended up finishing in 9:48.64 which is a new p.r. but I was still upset because I knew that wasn't enough to make the finals. Turns out to make the finals this year was a 9:39 or lower. That sucks because last year to make it you had to run a 9:55. I learned a lot from this race. I'm not gonna type all the lessons that I learned because it's late. I'm glad I can use what I learned from indoor and apply it into running for this up coming outdoor season. Peace.
