Didn't get very much sleep at all which sucked, but I got to nap on the way down to BYU so that was nice. I've never ran on the indoor track at BYU, but I love it. Probably the sickest track the I have ever ran on. When we got there we set up camp and chilled for a while until we had to warm up for the mile. All day long I had been experiencing digestion problems which made running a bit of a challenge. Fiber is the enemy... Not gonna go into much detail about that. When we started the mile  got out to a good start but just wasn't feeling that good because of what was happening and by the 3rd lap out of 5 I seriously contemplated dropping out. Really tightened up and just made pushing myself as hard as I could difficult. Finished with a 4:47. I wasn't really too happy with it, but it was alright. Cooldown and chilled then got lunch. Had a pretty long wait for the 2 mile. Finally got to warm ups and I still was having the same problem. Just not as bad as earlier in the day. Wasn't quite sure how I would do in the 2 mile. I tried to stay relax and try my best not to tighten up in the shoulders. Opened up in 57 seconds. (350m track btw) Each of my laps were pretty consistent around 61 seconds. I really focused on letting my long legs do a lot of the work by just trying to get bigger strides. Ethan widened a gap between me and him with a couple laps left, but that last lap I made up a lof of ground. Finished 2nd to him by 3 seconds. My time was 10:03 which I was happy with because it's a p.r. and I only have about 4 weeks of training in me right now. So there is a lot of room for improvement. I had an awesome day racing and being with all my friends. I'm so happy I get to do this every weekend for a couple weeks. Looking forward to the next meet on Saturday at Weber.

That's a solid 2 miler. Looks like you should go under 10 by the end of the indoor season. Nibley huh?? My wife is from Nibley and went to Mt. Crest. Great job.

Fascinating story about your running. Every one of us has to learn the lessons about talent and hard work. Hard work will take you far, talent and hard work will take you far, talent alone will get you nowhere.

Looking forward to seeing your progress.
