I haven't posted on here since the end of summer so I am gonna try to start doing this more often. Hayden was a G and switched into the 10k so we both didn't have to compete over 1 turkey. I would have, but I have been sick and it probably wouldn't be the best thing to do running in the cold for that long, plus that is about the 4th or 5th time I've been able to run in about 7 weeks. (I've had mono) The race was fun and cold but I got off to a decent start. Eric stuck with me for about a mile. The course was pretty tough because of the really long gradual inclines. I have lost a lot of my strength running hills since I haven't ran in so long. So those were pretty tough, but my favorite part of the finishing gradual downhill that was at the end. I had a pretty big lead from 2nd place and I just cruised down the hill. Came across the finishline in 18:45 which is nowhere good for me, but considering the tough course, me being sick, and not running in about 7 weeks I was fine with my time. I won a turkey in the 5k, and Hayden won a turkey in the 10k so my plan worked! Hope this next week I can do some real good for training for footlocker. I really need to keep my immune system up because it's been down recently. I need to start taking in more vitamin C.
